Dairyland Power Cooperative's Board of Directors approved a $200,000 loan from its USDA Rural Economic Development Revolving Loan Fund to the Sumner Day Care and Learning Center in Sumner, Iowa. The loans will help build a greatly needed daycare facility in the community.

"We paired that loan with an equal contribution from Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative's fund for a total loan of $400,000," said Jenny. "Collaborating with our members on economic development initiatives leverages dollars to create greater impact, which is a big win for rural communities in our service territory." Additionally, Dairyland worked with Butler County REC and Corn Belt Power Cooperative, which provided $100,000 and $200,000 loans respectively.
