Dairyland Power Cooperative and member cooperative Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative helped sponsor the Polk County Economic Development Corporation’s (PCEDC) 2026 Annual Awards Breakfast at Big Rock Creek in St. Croix Falls, Wis. Dairyland’s sponsorship was provided in part through its Cost Share Program, which supports member cooperatives’ local economic development initiatives.

The annual breakfast brought together business and community leaders to celebrate economic development and recognize local businesses for their contributions to Polk County. Dr. Richard Kyte of Viterbo University delivered the keynote presentation, discussing how social connections, including relationships, friendships and participation in groups, help individuals and communities thrive.

During the breakfast, PCEDC recognized several area businesses:

  • New Business of the Year: Auntie Mar’s Hilltop Donut Shop, St. Croix Falls
  • Agricultural Excellence Award: B.S. Acres Dairy, Dresser
  • Business Service Award: Chet Johnson Drug, Amery
  • Business of the Year: Osceola Medical Center, Osceola
  • Mainstreet Award: Rose’s Garden, Frederic

Through programs such as the Cost Share Program, Dairyland partners with its member cooperatives to support economic development activities that strengthen local communities and recognize the businesses contributing to their vitality.
