Dairyland Power Cooperative is excited to welcome Jami Gerke as our new Economic Development Specialist! Jami has been a valued member of the Dairyland family since 2021, working as a Graphic Designer in Powered Printing. In that role, she collaborated with many of our cooperative members, earning their trust and admiration through her creativity and attention to detail. Prior to joining Dairyland, Jami served as the Marketing Officer for a regional bank and worked as a REALTOR®, gaining valuable experience in strategic planning, communications, and community development.

Jami holds degrees in Graphic Design and Marketing and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA). Her diverse educational background and professional experiences will be instrumental in supporting Dairyland’s mission to drive economic growth and foster partnerships that benefit our cooperative members. The Economic Development team is excited to leverage Jami’s unique combination of skills and insight as we continue to strengthen the communities we serve.

Jami will be responsible for leading and managing several critical economic development initiatives that support Dairyland and our member cooperatives. Her role will include overseeing the USDA Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant (REDLG) program, which provides funding to promote economic growth in rural communities, as well as managing the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), a key resource for supporting local business development and job creation. In addition to these programs, Jami will also spearhead marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing Dairyland’s economic development efforts and promoting opportunities within our cooperative network. Her leadership in these areas will play a vital role in driving growth and fostering strong partnerships throughout the region.

Outside of work, Jami is an active volunteer and passionate about giving back. She participates in the Coulee Region Humane Society’s Ambassadors of Love Pet Therapy Program and volunteers at Emplify Health with her two therapy dogs, Brooks and Mather. Her dedication to helping others is a reflection of her commitment to the cooperative principles of community and service.

Jami is a true adventurer at heart, embracing a wide array of hobbies and interests that reflect her vibrant personality and zest for life. She enjoys curling up with a good book and staying active by riding her Peloton bike, balancing both mental and physical wellness. Family time is especially important to Jami; she cherishes moments spent with her husband and adult children, whether it’s hiking scenic trails, glamping (yes, glamorous camping is definitely a thing!), or kayaking alongside their two beloved dogs, Brooks and Mather. Her adventurous spirit is evident in her willingness to try new experiences—she’s a former roller derby athlete and once served as the lead singer in multiple cover bands, showcasing her confidence and creative energy. Jami’s diverse interests and fearless approach to life make her a dynamic and engaging presence both professionally and personally.
